Pimples on the buttocks differ from acne which occur on the face, neck, shoulders, upper arms, upper back or chest. They are often a result of folliculitis (inflammation of hair follicles), or carbuncles (cluster of boils). Besides, the combination of dirt, moisture, and friction from clothing may also lead to pimples on the buttocks. The treatment depends on the cause. In general, doctors offer products that clear up the skin, and antibiotics in severe cases. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent them:
  • Wear loose clothing and avoid tight clothing.
  • Treat folliculitis (or other conditions) immediately before it leads to pimples on the buttocks.
