Folliculitis refers to the skin condition that causes inflammation of hair follicles. In severe cases, it may lead to permanent hair loss and scarring. Usually, it's a result of a bacterial or fungal infection.
Since the onset of the condition, there are often itchy, painful things like small red bumps or white-headed pimples around hair follicles. Then, gradually, they turn into blisters and crusty sores. According to the extent of the condition, there are 2 types: superficial, and deep.
Fortunately, mostly this condition resolves with basic self-care measures, such as compression with a warm washcloth and use of soothing lotions. On the other hand, if it persists for a long time, the patient need ask for professional help.
