Distal coronary artery disease was diagnosed when it occurred distal to the second septal, diagonal in LAD, or in the D1 or S1 if it’s 20mm away from it’s origin, which is less amenable to surgery or stenting compared with proximal disease. In LCX and RCA, distal CAD was diagnosed when the lesions were beyond OM1 or RV branches respectively. In a word, all PDA and PLA lesions were considered distal. Keywords: distal coronary artery disease.   Related FAQ: http://healthtopquestions.com/?p=5049 http://healthtopquestions.com/?p=4994 http://healthtopquestions.com/?p=4958
