Stress cardiomyopathy is also known as broken heart syndrome, takotsubo cardiomyopathy and apical ballooning syndrome. When emotional or physical stress is so intense that it cause fast and serious heart muscle weakness, it leads to stress cardiomyopathy which is a life-threatening condition.
