My father has received a heart stent procedure three weeks ago. It took about 2.5 hours. Doctors told me it took 3 hours before the surgery.  One day after the operation, my father could be up and about. He left the hospital 3 days later and recovered well now.

Heart stent surgery can take as long as 3 hours. Usually, after removing the catheter 12 to 24 hours,  the patient can leave the hospital. A few days or a week later, the patient can resume to normal life.

It depends. The complexity of the artery, the degree of stenosis and the situation of the patient are all factors. Mostly, it takes 0.5-4 hours.

It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to perform the entire surgery. The duration is dependent upon the technical difficulty of the case and the number of balloon catheters that have to be employed.
