If your stool is hard and dry, constipation may be the reason.

Have you eaten raw foods recently? Sometimes a high-fiber diet may make you have large stools, even if you don't each too much.

Besides, large stools may be indicators of diseases that affect the digestive tract.

You can consult your doctor to find the exact cause.
What you eat, how well you digest food, and disease are all possible to make this happen. Cause your stool has been large the last three weeks, not a short period of time, I guess you may have certain disease. Last year, I found my stools become very large one day. And the situation lasted at least five weeks! After visiting a doctor for diagnosis, I were told that I have celiac disease. Many other digestive disease may cause your stools to be large. So, if you didn't have something difficult to digest and the condition still exists in several days, you should go to see a doctor.  Hope my answer will be helpful.
My stool was large in past few weeks and i was so damn worried. I went to the doctor and turned out it was hemorrhoids. No wonder why it was itchy and there was blood coming out... anyway, the doctor said that i should eat more fiber and keep myslef hydrated. Had a proctoscopy, and got some medicines, now i am still fighting against it. Hope that i can recover soon. But what i really need to say is, don't be embarrased to go to the doctor, i am acutally feeling better now.

Have you eaten too much in the last three weeks? If you ate as usual, you need pay attention to the smell, color and some other abnormal aspects. You may get indigestion, cystic fibrosis or other disease. If there is blood in your stool, you should go to see a doctor. That may be hemorrhoids or intestinal cancer. If your stool just very hard and large, you may get constipation.

You can eat more vegetables and less meat, drink more water, avoid eating spicy food and drinking coffee and alcohol. These may be helpful to you.

How about the color? Is the color as normal as usual? It seems that your bowel movement has been active for some reason. Maybe there's inner bleeding as well. You should see a doctor and do blood and stool tests to find out.

Maybe you are suffering from a constipation. Some tips for your condition:

  • Drink two to four extra glasses of water a day, unless your doctor asks you to limit fluids for another reason.

  • Try warm liquids, especially in the morning.

  • Add fruits and vegetables to your diet.

  • Eat prunes and bran cereal.

  • Exercise most days of the week. When you move your body, the muscles in your intestines are more active, too.
  • Don't ignore the urge to pass stool.
It happens if you change your diet, eating a lot of fibers. Sometimes before my period I have large stools, it's because the pressure from the uterus.

Do you think anything might be pressing your intestines?
