Just had PSA test and the result is 8.2. Do I need a biopsy done?

Yes. A PSA level above 4.0 ng/mL means a high chance of having prostate cancer, which could only be diagnosed by a prostate biopsy.
My husband went for 4 years with rising PSA, first at 4 or 5, then it was 8.3. He had exams and a 10 shot biposy with a negative result. Later he went to see a different urologist and it went up to 19.4, he did a 30 shot biopsy and found cancer. RP was done, and all is fine now.
