The diet for patients with pancreatitis should be LOW-FAT.

Generally, the patient should not consume more than 20 grams of fat a day, or 10 grams a meal. By reading nutrition labels, you can be your own judge.

Healthcare professionals also advise patients avoid caffeine and alcohol, and limit:

  • Red meat
  • Organ meat
  • French fries, potato chips
  • Mayonnaise
  • Margarine, butter
  • Full-fat dairy
  • Pastries
  • Sugary drinks
If you are having acute pancreatitis now, you should not eat at all. Sea a docotro ASAP, it's very dangerous.
I've been through it...could have died!
I've been through it. Several times! In & out of the hospital!
Hi my name is lina my son 41 year old severe panancreatis been in hospital for 3 months just put new tube to drain my question is can he well from his pancreas
He will be OK. However, individuals with chronic or severe form of pancreatitis tend to stay longer in the hospital and require more aggressive treatments for pancreatitis.
I don’t know that’s why I’m asking you!!!
I think you mean you had acute pancreatitis. A person in acute pancreatitis has severe stomach pain and other discomforts that stop you from staying at home. When you're back home from hospital, a low-fat diet is still necessary.
