  • Blood pressure numbers of less than 120/80 mm Hg are considered within the normal range.
  • Elevated blood pressure is when readings consistently range from 120-129 systolic and less than 80 mm Hg diastolic.
  • Hypertension Stage 1 is when blood pressure consistently ranges from 140-159 systolic or 90-99 mm Hg diastolic.
  • Hypertension Stage 2 is when blood pressure consistently ranges at 160/100 mm Hg or higher.

This stage of high blood pressure requires medical attention. If your blood pressure readings suddenly exceed 180/120 mm Hg, wait five minutes and then test your blood pressure again. If your readings are still unusually high, contact your doctor immediately. You could be experiencing a hypertensive crisis.

If your blood pressure is higher than 180/120 mm Hg and you are experiencing signs of possible organ damage such as chest pain, shortness of breath, back pain, numbness/weakness, change in vision or difficulty speaking, do not wait to see if your pressure comes down on its own. Call 911.

My b/p has been consistently running 167/121 or 169/109. I have the dx of scleroderma but I believe I fit more neatly into symptoms of Cushing  disease. These readings are accompanied by head dizziness
Your blood pressure is very high and not very well controlled. This high blood pressure would certainly lead to dizziness. You should see a cardiologist to have your blood pressure controlled to less than 130/90 mmHg.
Your BP is high above the normal. No matter what is the cause, you should take drugs to have it well controlled. If you have dizziness, you should go to the ER and let the doctor deal with it. Then see a physician and get long-term and proper treatment.
My Blood pressure is currently 135/59.what can I do ???
I don't think you need treatment. It's normal for the elderly to have a big pulse pressure difference.
I have a 106/69 bp. I went to a Dr appt and was told I had high blood pressure. Declined pills and had a recheck and was told was ok. Moral is dont always believe what they tell you without a 2nd recheck.
Yes I agree. That can't be high bp.
My blood pressure is 98 over 60 I feel very tired
Your blood pressure is normal. Ideal blood pressure is less than 120/80 mmHg. A blood pressure level between 120-139/80-89 is considered prehypertension. You can monitor your blood pressure regularly. Also, You can improve your lifestyle to adjust your blood pressure by eating a low-salt diet, stopping smoking and restricting alcohol, and exercising moderately.
It's normal.

Your blood pressure is very dangerous to you. You are prone to sudden cerebral hemorrhage, myocardial infarction and other diseases. Go to the hospital. The doctor will give you the right antihypertensive drugs.
Your BP is high above normal. You should take drugs ASAP. Otherwise, you would have heart attack or stroke. You should go to the hospital to find out if you have kidney or kidney artery problem.
86/62 is my blood pressure
Your systolic pressure is a little low. If you feel good, you don't need treatment. If you feel weak and dizzy, go to the hospital as soon as possible.
My pressure keeps in low 90s over low 40s..i am 87
How long has it been? Do you take anti-hypertension drugs? If so, stop it. Do you have any heart problem? Possible cause: heart failure, hypothyroidism, adrenal insufficiency. Go to the hospital and do tests to find out.

Yes, your BP and heart rate are all Ok.
I keep having low blood pressure.
What is your blood pressure level? The exact number? Do you have abnormal feelings?
What's your blood pressure? Do you have any other diseases? Do you feel tired, etc?
b/p was good but getting weak,  couldn't walk more than 20 feet, weight loss, no
appetite, had med adjustment, b/p went high.  Taken off hydrochlorothiazide and Amlodipine twice a day, 5 mg and hydrochlorothiazide once a day.  Feeling better beining able to eat and function again, now b/p 160/98/61
I guess you have heart failure with Sodium retention. Hydrochlorothiazide makes you urinate more. Now you are getting better. Keep taking the medicine. Try to drink less water and eat less salt. That would be good for you.
Your symptoms are typical of heart failure. You need to see a cardiologist to put your BP to 130/80mmHg. The hydrochlorothiazide would make your heart function better.
Is hydrochlorothiazide just a diuretic
In addition to its diuretic effect, it also has antihypertensive effect.
