Fever can be caused by many factors. According to the NIH (National Institutes of Health), a body temperature exceeding 99.5°F (37.5°C) in a child, and 99°F to 99.5°F (37.2°C to 37.5°C) in an adult is considered as a fever.

Here are some home remedies to help you ease the fever at home. However, if your body temperature is high or keeps in a high level, consult a doctor immediately. Home remedies are only adjunct treatments.
1. Cold compression
Applying cold compression can help your body temperature come down quickly.
Soak a washcloth in cool tap water, squeeze the extra water out and place it on your forehead. Change the washcloth frequently. But remember NOT to use ice or ice water because it can worsen the condition.

2. Homemade ORS
ORS will reduce the intensity of typhoid symptoms and aid recovery. If you have diarrhea with fever, ORS can help prevent dehydration.
To make ORS, mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 6 teaspoons of sugar in 1 liter (about 4 cups) of clean drinking water. Mix it thoroughly and drink it several times a day until you recover completely.

3. Drink enough water
Take 8 to 10 glasses of clean drinking water every day. Boil the tap water before drinking. You can also drink more tea, fresh fruit juices or glucose water to help.
