Can you reduce the plaque in the arteries?

  • 2
70yr old female. Had  TIA symptoms. Was given blood thinner, Plavix and Lipitor, to lower cholesterol. MRI was good, Carotid US was good, all blood work ok. I was told at my age, there was nothing I could take to try and reduce the plaque.

Plaxiv and Liptior are standard treatment for TIA. You are in good hand. No need to worry.
There's no way to get rid of plaque unless you have surgery. If there are no serious symptoms, take drugs to reduce blood lipid.
